Once upon a time in the year 2012 a.d.,

New Orleans-natives Ronnie Evans and Philip Moseley set out to become New Orleans' foremost purveyors of fine smoked meats and savory sauces. They succeeded. That year, New Orleans' Best BBQ in the World, Blue Oak BBQ, was born. 

Now in 2017 with a shiny new location at 900 N. Carrollton Ave and a Hogs for the Cause Championship under their belts, the Blue Oak team continues to pave the way for carnivorous excellence in New Orleans. Come visit! You will not be dissappointed.

Philip Moseley

CO-OWNER & KEEPER OF THE FLAME

Philip is a New Orlean native who knew early on that the 9-5 grind was too short a day for him. His love for food comes from his mother's homemade Brazilian cookin' and his dad's mastery of the Weber. In his free time, he enjoys shopping at Costco.

RoNnie Evans

Co-Owner & Chief BBQ Tech

Ronnie grew up on the historic Westbank of New Orleans where his parents, Ronnie and Patsy, are still patiently waiting for him to uproot from the family home. His passion for cooking and eating can be directly attributed to the conveniently located culinary hubs of Popeye's Fried Chicken, Taco Bell, and the Beef Connection. Some of Ronnie's favorite foods include Red Beans and Rice, White Beans and Rice, and Black Beans and Rice.

 

 

Shannon Bingham

CHEF DE CUISINE & PIT MASTER

Shannon Bingham is the pit master at Blue Oak BBQ. Shannon has tried barbecue in Texas, met Aaron Franklin twice, and has a Yelp! account, therefore knows more about barbecue than pretty much anyone. Shannon came on board with Blue Oak in 2016, manages the kitchen, and helps Phil and Ronnie develop really awesome/cool new recipes and specials.

Patrick SMith

general manager

Patrick Smith is the general manager and bar director at Blue Oak BBQ. Patrick was Blue Oakโ€™s first employee, and has been with the company since 2013. Patrick oversees both the front of house and Blue Oakโ€™s award-winning craft beer and whiskey programs. A man once said "Patrick is the best bartender in New Orleans"... he had been drinking.
